This

This is pretty much how I feel about Hegel.
'Blah blah blah, blah blah.'
He pretty much just throws words onto a page, in no particular order.
'Blah blah blah, Yay Germany!, blah blah blah.'
That's about all I get out of it.

I need to ask the Dean why in the sam' heck we read this, I think. It's so obscure, I'm not sure if there IS anything to figure out about it . . .

And now I have to talk about this nonsense, with 20 other people, for 2 hours.

-!-

If Mr. O. understands this guy, I'm really gonna start wondering about him - - well, more so than I do already, anyhow.

Well, anyway, it's back to work for me.
Lots of love to you all,
Em

Cute.

Apparently Hegel has some pretty profound stuff to say, like it says on the back cover of the book. My seminar tutor corroborated, stating that a mentor of his at grad school had an uncanny ability to interpret the mush into something interesting.

Admit it, we're just not smart enough...

Now, on the back of the book it says that " . . . this book . . . is . . . a living example of the finest powers of philosophical IMAGINATION."

I take that to mean Hegel made it aaaaaalllll UP. :)

I don't doubt he was smart - I just think it's possible for smart people to go crazy, and that seems to be exactly what he did. *tee hee*

More on this later -
